Bed No. 2 INCLUDING Storage Option

Featuring strong lines, exposed joinery, and an enjoyably slanted headboard. 

This bed exhibits clean coherent lines with angles reminiscent of the mid century era, but brought into a contemporary and modern design. The details include exposed angled bridle joints and the feet that are subtle yet instantly eye-catching. The entire bed is constructed with mortise and tenon joinery (super strong) and is finished with a hand rubbed oil/wax to keep a close to wood feel, but also protect from a lifetime of use. 

The drawers suspend from the bed and do not go all the way to the floor, giving a much lighter and more airy feel than traditional storage beds, while providing the same storage capacity. 

Our goal with this bed has been, first and foremost, to construct a piece of furniture that will last well over 50 years without issue. Quality of material and construction is our focus. I hope you like the design and find the proportions pleasing, but we strive primarily to surpass your expectations in regard to quality. A key advantage of purchasing from a smaller scale shop is that we can justify losing our minds on details such as grain orientation and joinery reinforcement. The storage drawers will be made of all solid wood, the same wood as the bed. They suspend from the bed leaving about a 3" gap between the floor and the start of the drawers, giving much more modern and light look as opposed to the bulky heavy look of more traditional storage bed options. The pulls for the drawers are hide leather wrapped around a brass rod and the drawer joinery is also pinned with brass for a subtle, but interesting contrast. Finger jointed drawers with cut-outs for pulls are also an option.

Default is notched cutout at top of drawer. Other options are circular cutouts or leather-wrapped brass .

FINISH
We use a natural (and food-safe) oil/wax finish to protect and highlight the beauty of the wood so that it can be enjoyed in day-to-day activities by all ages without fear. Any spills can easily be wiped off and, over time, a simple application of oil will revitalize the piece as needed based on personal preference. Yes, it's designed to be beautiful, but it's also built to be lived in and a part of your family's life.

ASSEMBLY
This bed is easily assembled in under 5 minutes, using sturdy interlocking hardware to attach the side rails to the headboard and footboard. Slats support the mattress, as well as an adjustable center support leg, leaving no need for a superfluous box spring. A hex key will be included if drawers are included and this will add a few minutes and bolts, but remains a simple process.
