Our goal with this bed has been, first and foremost, to construct a piece of furniture that will last well over 50 years without issue. Quality of material and construction is our focus. I hope you like the design and find the proportions pleasing, but we strive primarily to surpass your expectations in regard to quality. A key advantage of purchasing from a smaller scale shop is that we can justify losing our minds on details such as grain orientation and joinery reinforcement. Please enjoy for many, many years to come. 

This bed is made from 100% solid walnut and real leather. The frame is a solid 2 inches thick and is supported by two turned legs at the foot of the bed that are attached through a visible wedged mortise and tenon joint, which adds a subtle but interesting detail to the frame. The frame is mitered and goes together in minutes with just the use of an allen wrench. It is painfully simple. 

The design of the floating headboard (which does actually appear to be floating once a mattress is placed on the frame) works well with the thick minimal frame. The sculpted top rail above the upholstered headboard is hand-shaped and flows elegantly into and out of every transition.

Wood: Available in any domestic hardwood including Walnut, Maple, White Oak, Cherry, Ash.
Upholstered headboard: May use leather for an additional $100, any Eco-wise Pendleton® wool currently available, or personalized option.

FINISH
We use an eco-friendly (and food-safe) oil/wax finish that seals and protects the wood as it highlights it's natural beauty, so that it can be enjoyed in day-to-day activities by all ages without hesitation. Any spills can easily be wiped off and, over time, a simple application of oil will revitalize the piece as needed based on personal preference.

Being a small shop, lead times vary as we strive to complete each piece with the utmost care and attention. It is generally 10-12 weeks, but please contact me if you need your order expedited or by a specific date.
