Side Table No. 2

These side tables are the definition of a labor of love. They are almost impossible to justify making, but are such a pleasure to create that we just can't stop. All joints are sculpted to flow into and out of each other by hand. The floating box as well as the drawers within are handcut dovetails, giving a complex and sophisticated element to this playful design. 

A piece of Scandinavian simplicity mixed with traditional elements. The box is dovetailed and rounded over to give a "worn in" look and feel. 

The stretchers incorporate through mortises wedged with ebony for strength and subtle style.

FINISH
We use a natural (and food-safe) oil/wax finish to protect and highlight the beauty of the wood so that it can be enjoyed in day-to-day activities by all ages without fear. Any spills can easily be wiped off and, over time, a simple application of oil will revitalize the piece as needed based on personal preference. Yes, it's designed to be beautiful, but it's also built to be lived in and a part of your family's life.
