                         Get ready for a magnificent light show! Exceptionally fine, this 6.75 carat Australian black opal oval cabochon displays wondrous chunks of hot blue, green, orange and yellow in a lively play of color. Touches of red, orange and pink also show wily hues throughout the gem. 

The 17.3 by 13.1 by 4.75 mm opal is set in a fabulous platinum mounting with open work galore, sensuous curves and mille grain accents. Placed throughout the mount, thirty-two (32) diamonds of a total .29 carats (I-J color; SI1-2 clarity) perform the gleaming magic acts only diamonds possess.

A cornucopia of fourteen (14) rose cut and eighteen (18) single cut diamonds place tender kisses on a platinum under-gallery and sides. Shoulders are exceptionally beautiful embellished with a stylized papyrus motif studded with diamonds.

Date: Circa 1925. 

Measurements: Length is 3/4 of an inch (19 cm) in length north to south on the hand and sits up 1/4 inch high off the finger (5 mm). Weight of 5.5 grams.
