Bed No. 3 INCLUDING Storage Option

Our goal with this bed has been, first and foremost, to construct a piece of furniture that will last well over 50 years without issue. Quality of material and construction is our focus. I hope you like the design and find the proportions pleasing, but we strive primarily to surpass your expectations in regard to quality. A key advantage of purchasing from a smaller scale shop is that we can justify losing our minds on details such as grain orientation and joinery reinforcement. Please enjoy for many, many years to come. 

Mid Century Simplicity.

The bed is made of all solid 1.5" and 2" wood. Though delicate in design, it is as sturdy as can be imagined. 

Bed is constructed with all mortise and tenon joinery, yet breaks down simply and easily. Assembly time with storage option typically around 5 minutes. 

The storage drawers will be made of all solid wood, the same wood as the bed, in this case walnut. They suspend from the bed leaving about a 3" gap between the floor and the start of the drawers, giving much more modern and light look as opposed to the bulky heavy look of more traditional storage bed options. The drawers themselves are finger jointed for an interesting contrast, though a more subtle form of joinery is an option if you prefer. 

WOOD + UPHOLSTERY

Wood: Available in any domestic hardwood including Walnut, Maple, White Oak, Cherry.
Upholstered headboard: May use leather for an additional $100, any Eco-wise Pendleton® wool currently available, or personalized option.

FINISH
We use a natural (and food-safe) oil/wax finish to protect and highlight the beauty of the wood so that it can be enjoyed in day-to-day activities by all ages without fear. Any spills can easily be wiped off and, over time, a simple application of oil will revitalize the piece as needed based on personal preference. Yes, it's designed to be beautiful, but it's also built to be lived in and a part of your family's life.

ASSEMBLY
This bed is easily assembled in under 5 minutes, using sturdy interlocking hardware to attach the side rails to the headboard and footboard. Slats support the mattress, as well as an adjustable center support leg, leaving no need for a superfluous box spring.
